Located six miles west of Denver off I-70, the town of Wheat Ridge, Colorado consists of 10 square miles of rolling land. Although the town was not incorporated until 1970, its history dates back to the 1840s when early miners and farmers settled nearby. From that time until just before World War II, Wheat Ridge was a small farming community, providing the majority of Denver’s fresh produce. As the city grew, it added carnations to its list of offerings, celebrating its heritage each August with the Carnation Festival.

With an elevation of 5,445 feet and a population of 32,913, the town has a diverse culture and much to do. The town features old theater districts, Hispanic centers, antique shops, and consignment stores. For the food lover, Wheat Ridge presents a variety of cuisine including family owned restaurants, South American and Italian cuisine, and neighborhood food and wine markets.
