Considered part of the Denver Metro region, Arvada is located 10 miles northwest of Denver on I-70.  With an estimated population of 103,225 in 2003, the city encompasses slightly more than 34 square miles. It is located close to the Denver International Airport , the downtown Denver business district, and a number of mountain communities. It is accessible from three major interstate highways, including I-70, I-76 and I-25.

The area was founded in the 1850s when gold was discovered in nearby Denver . The town was incorporated more than fifty years later in 1904. Celebrating its 100^th anniversary in 2004, this progressive city blends its hopes for the future with its rich past.

One of the city’s many attractions includes Historic Olde Town Arvada, which is a Colorado Main Street Community.
